Hugo Bruce(Born Oxford) is the youngest son of the military historian George Bruce and tudor historian Marie-Louise Bruce. He studied at Bristol art college(Foundation), a degree in painting at City and Guilds, London and a post-graduate in painting at Winchester College(Southampton University) in Barcelona. He is currently represented by Espacio Valverde Gallery in Madrid.

Early paintings combined imaginative architectural scenes with references to figures. or parts of the body. But he is better known for sculptural works portraying forms which seem to be in process of transformation or growth, often appaearing to be autonomous forms made by nature.
